Summary

Sojern is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to improve the performance of their targeting and optimization products. The candidate should have relevant experience in machine learning, data science, and the Ad Tech ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building production-level ML and data products
  • Expert-level understanding of data science topics
  • At least two years experience as an applied scientist, preferably within the Ad Tech ecosystem
  • MS or PhD in computer science or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to write production code in Python and reason about algorithmic efficiency
  • Ability to design and apply machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, causal inference and uplift, etc.) to solve business problems
  • Effective communication with applied scientists, data scientists, engineers, and product managers
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, and interpret model results resulting in further improvement of existing statistical model performance
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis using SQL/Jupyter notebook to find underlying issues and propose a solution to stakeholders explaining the various trade-offs associated with the solution
  • Ability to work independently to solve data challenges with data science, machine learning, and algorithms
