Requirements

  • 15–20 years of relevant industry experience, including 5+ years in senior architecture roles
  • Extensive leadership experience in scalable architecture, including a proven track record of leading large, cross-functional engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and lead organizations through complex architectural transformations
  • Experience designing scalable and resilient enterprise-grade platforms and applications
  • A recognized thought leader with a demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and execute with a bias for action
  • Skilled at balancing long-term strategies with short-term business priorities, enabling pragmatic and sustainable solutions
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems iteratively and evolutionarily
  • Strong experience improving quality and operational processes, commitment to implementing best engineering practices across the organization
  • Deep cloud expertise with hands-on experience in cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), preferably in AWS
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate architectural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong collaborator, able to influence and build productive relationships across engineering, product, and business teams
  • Passionate about enabling other architects and engineers through leadership, mentoring, and driving efficient, well-informed decision-making
  • Skilled at articulating and sharing the vision with customers and synthesizing their business needs to influence strategy and future direction

  • Lead and mentor a team of high-performing architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure world-class reliability, scalability, and security for all the products we build
  • Mentor other architects and engineers on the team throughout their journey
  • Influence and guide architectural and product decisions, balancing long-term vision with immediate business needs
  • Represent Twilio as a thought leader in the industry, contributing to forums, conferences, and partnerships
