Senior Azure Data Engineer in Portugal

Summary

Laminar Projects is a consultancy focused on implementing technology to improve construction projects and has a separate product team, Shape Construction, that develops construction management software products. The company values meaningful relationships, personal development, and empowerment. They are currently seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join their Data & Digital team. The role involves building data solutions for clients and internal reporting, productizing client solutions, following and developing processes, and developing everyone. Requirements include a degree in Computer Science or related field, Azure Intelligent Data Platform expertise, SQL experience, and 3+ years of experience designing and implementing robust data solutions in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks. Preferred requirements include Microsoft certification, Power BI/Azure Analysis Services/Microsoft Fabric experience, team leadership experience, and process implementation experience.

Requirements

• Degree educated in one of the following: Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience
• Azure Intelligent Data Platform expertise
• 4+ years working with SQL: building and optimizing analytics tables, building complex queries
• 3+ years designing and implementing robust data solutions in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics (Azure SQL Data Warehouse), Azure Databricks
• Experience with Python and Azure Functions to glue together data infrastructure
• Strong experience in software engineering fundamentals including testing, Git version control, agile development, and sharing knowledge via code review, mentoring, and documentation

Responsibilities

• Building data solutions for clients: Develop adaptable data pipelines tailored to clients' needs, employing a range of technology solutions to ensure seamless integration and compatibility
• Building data solutions for internal reporting: Help Laminar become data-driven by leveraging Fabric to collect organization data and enhance operational efficiency
• Productisation of client solutions: Design and build scalable pipelines that work across different clients
• Following and developing processes: Follow the team's best practices and identify areas for improvement by refining or introducing new processes
• Develop everyone: Keep your knowledge up to date with latest industry trends and impart that knowledge onto others
