Summary
Join Ada's brilliant Infrastructure team as a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer and contribute to improving the delivery, maintenance, and support of infrastructure products. This remote position, based in the UK or Germany (preferably London or Berlin), offers the opportunity to extend and improve container-based Azure infrastructure, partner with engineering colleagues on self-service tooling, and contribute to resilient CI/CD pipelines. You will enable a high-quality IT environment for engineering and data teams, maintain automated monitoring and alerting systems, and train developers on infrastructure and automation topics. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in automated provisioning of Azure environments, extensive experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Helm, and cert-manager, and a deep understanding of the link between infrastructure and the software delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
- A strong background in automated provisioning of Azure environments is essential, ideally you will also have experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Helm and cert-manager - these are all essential
- Proven experience in distributed systems debugging
- A deep understanding of the intrinsic link between infrastructure and the software delivery lifecycle, while maintaining a system thinking view of the business
- An appreciation and knowledge of Security Engineering and InfoSec
- You understand the importance of distributed tracing and systems thinking expressed in metrics, visualized through graphics to make meaning intuitive
- You have expertise in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) as well as in following principles in continuous delivery
Responsibilities
- Extend and improve our container-based Azure infrastructure, running in Kubernetes and continue to automate away human toil
- Partner with your colleagues from engineering to embrace the idea of self-service tooling, making the best way the easiest way
- Contribute to resilient CI/CD pipelines/processes to make sure that our engineering team is able to deploy features faster while being compliant to regulations
- Youโll enable a high quality and fast IT environment for services and resources for engineering and/or data teams to run their Java, Kotlin and Python services, backed by MongoDB, Redis and/or PostgreSQL within Kubernetes clusters
- Extend and maintain our automated monitoring and alerting systems
- Train Developers on infrastructure and automation topics
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GCP, Jenkins, Honeycomb, Sumologic, Cloudflare, AWS Docker, Terraform and mTLS systems would be beneficial
