Senior Back End Software Engineer

Summary

Cloudbeds is seeking a Senior Back End Software Engineer to work remotely within the EU on their Payments team. The successful candidate will help deliver exceptional products to customers worldwide, participate in strategic decisions, mentor junior engineers, and drive optimization and flexibility of software engineering processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of core Java experience, ideally with a very solid knowledge of Spring Boot
• 3+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience
• 2+ years experience working with MySQL and PostgreSQL. Tuning and optimization skills are preferred
• 1+ years of experience of designing and developing event-driven microservices in Java and/or PHP
• Experience within an organization that focused on high availability, scalability, security, automation and observability
• Solid understanding of secure software engineering concerns
• A strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects
• Dedication towards observability by leveraging metrics, experiments, and prototypes to ensure decisions are data-driven
• Strong knowledge and a passion for software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing
• Strong teamwork and time management skills
• Passionate about agile practices and continuous improvement
• Business-level English fluency required (verbal and written skills)
