Senior Backend Developer

Summary

Join iHorizons as a Backend Developer and contribute to the development of high-performing, scalable applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using the Laravel PHP framework, writing clean and efficient code, implementing robust database schemas, and integrating RESTful APIs. You will also conduct thorough testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, 6 to 8 years of experience in PHP development with at least 3 years in Laravel, and strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as Laravel Certification or PHP Certification
• Overall, 6 to 8 years' experience in PHP development, with 3 years plus in Laravel framework
• Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework
• Proven experience in developing web applications and APIs
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Basic Database Management skills
• Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Good organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using the Laravel PHP framework
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented PHP code following industry best practices
• Implement and manage robust database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure application scalability
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services to enhance system functionality
• Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through optimization and performance tuning
• Conduct thorough testing (unit, feature, integration) to ensure code reliability
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in development and production environments
• Participate in code reviews and write clean, efficient, and well-documented PHP code while adhering to established architecture and coding standards
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and deliver new features
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing and skill-building
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve development practices
