Senior Backend Developer Python, Remote - Belgium

Summary

The job is a remote senior developer position at Kraken Technologies, a company within Octopus Energy Group. The role involves solving design challenges in the European energy market and technical problems with smart meters data processing. The ideal candidate should have experience with Python, Django, domain modelling, HTTP and REST APIs, writing robust software, Celery, Postgres, and AWS (preferably Terraform, Packer, Consul). Fluency in Dutch or Flemish is required.

Requirements

• Experience with Python (minimum 7 y.e.)
• Experience with Django (or equivalent web framework)
• Domain modelling experience
• HTTP and REST APIs experience
• Experience in writing robust and fault-tolerant software
• Celery and async processing experience
• Postgres experience
• Fluency in Dutch or Flemish

Responsibilities

• Solve design challenges in the European energy market
• Solve technical problems with smart meters data processing

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS experience (Terraform, Packer, Consul)
• React and Redux experience
