Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join our Transaction & Customer Team within the Checkout Unit as a Senior Backend Developer, working onsite in Hamburg or remotely within Germany. We manage the entire order lifecycle, from cart to payment, focusing on COBA, a core backend service. You will contribute to a seamless shopping experience by developing and maintaining our backend systems. The role requires extensive experience with PHP, Symfony, and MySQL, along with strong problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with PHP, with a strong focus on modern development
• Proven expertise in Symfony, following best practices for scalable applications
• Solid understanding of engineering principles and software architecture
• Strong experience with MySQL & Redis
• Fluent English communication skills
• Proactive problem solver with a strong sense of responsibility and eager to learn
• Able to handle complex technical tasks independently
• Team player, ensuring high-quality, technically sound solutions that amplify team efforts
