Senior Backend Engineer, Remote - Worldwide

Summary

The job is for a Senior Backend Engineer at Bestow, a leading insurance technology platform. The role involves working on the Post-Issue Engineering team to develop and support integration solutions for digital life insurance experiences with partners. The engineer will work closely with product managers and external partners, resolve issues with previously delivered features, write tests, peer review code, ensure software security, maintainability, and collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers. Requirements

4+ years of professional software development experience (backend)

Responsibilities

• Develop and support integration solutions to bring digital life insurance experience to partners
• Collaborate with teams across Bestow to establish roadmaps on features involving partners
• Resolve issues with previously delivered features
• Write unit and integration tests for code you create
• Peer review code developed by others on your team
• Ensure software is secure, maintainable

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience with Golang (Go)
• Experience using Docker for local software development
• An advocate for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
• Experience with distributed systems or microservices
• Experience designing APIs (Protocol Buffers, RAML, Swagger, OpenAPI, etc)
