Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Calendly's Engineering team as a Senior Backend Engineer and contribute to the development and scaling of our platform. You will collaborate with a team of talented engineers to build new features for our enterprise customers, contribute to platform scaling initiatives, and work with various technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and more. This role requires 7+ years of software development experience, expertise in service-oriented architectures, and proficiency in ElasticSearch, Typescript, and Node. You will be involved in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and mentoring junior team members. Requirements

• 7+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company
• Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) (microservices)
• 5+ years experience with ElasticSearch, Typescript and Node
• A drive to craft clean, reliable and maintainable code
• Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
• Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within your team to build new features that are targeted at our highest impact enterprise customers
• Contribute to platform scaling initiatives
• Meet regularly with Product and Design to fine tune requirements
• Attend agile ceremonies to help your team plan out their work and get it done
• Work across squads to improve Engineering practices at Calendly
• Review implementation plans and pull requests from your peers
• Mentor and coach other team members
