Senior Backend Engineer

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop technical specifications. This role requires expertise in backend systems, RESTful APIs, and cloud infrastructure tools. You will lead development efforts, write high-quality code, and ensure high test coverage. Mentorship and training of other engineers are also key responsibilities. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide high-quality code reviews centered on code quality and mentoring
• Ability to partner with leads across products to leverage institutional knowledge to solve complex problems

• This role typically requires 8 years of related experience
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop technical specifications
• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that are reliable, scalable, and secure
• Lead development and implementation of complex backend features and services, including RESTful APIs secured by RBAC, collaborating cross-functionally with QA, DevOps, PMs, and client engineers to ensure a smooth development and deployment process
• Write high-quality, well-documented, and easily maintainable code using modern programming languages
• Ensure high test coverage for all code, including unit and integration tests
• Implement backend features with instrumentation and monitoring to detect system errors and performance issues
• Stay up-to-date on the latest backend technologies and trends, including cloud infrastructure tools like GCP, Terraform, and Docker
• Actively contribute to the CI/CD pipelines to optimize deployment workflows, enhance test automation, and maintain robust system security
• Develop, mentor and train software engineers fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and innovation
