Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join CoinTracker's close-knit, early-stage distributed team and play a key role in scaling backend systems and owning high-impact product and engineering goals. Build new features, products, integrations, and backend services; design scalable systems for millions of users; and collaborate with team members across the company. The ideal candidate will have strong CS fundamentals, 5+ years of software development experience, and experience evolving a startup's architecture. They should be productive, resourceful, problem-solvers drawn to a high-growth startup environment. Strong cloud platform fundamentals (GCP or AWS) and interest in financial products/cryptocurrency are also needed. The role requires effective remote work, overlapping with core hours (9 AM to 12 PM PT).

Requirements

• Have strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and distributed systems
• Write high-quality code, value software testing, and uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design
• Enjoy designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
• Have experience evolving a startup’s architecture to support mid-size company growth
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Productive, resourceful, and effective at problem-solving
• Drawn to an early-stage, high-growth startup environment with less stability and more ambiguity
• Strong fundamentals with a cloud platform like GCP or AWS
• Interested in financial products and/or cryptocurrency
• Able to work effectively in a remote setting and able to overlap with our core hours of 9 AM to 12 PM PT
• Demonstrated ability to drive business impact
