Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Backend Engineer and contribute to the development and improvement of our Incident Response Management (IRM) solutions. This remote position, open to EMEA time zones, involves coding new features, enhancing system operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will actively participate in shaping the team's roadmap and own the customer experience through on-call rotations. The ideal candidate possesses strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Golang or Python, and a passion for building high-quality, maintainable software. Requirements

• Be comfortable working in a remote-first company and understand the importance of communication
• Enjoy working as a team
• Have solid experience as a Software Engineer building full stack applications
• Know how to transform ideas into working code – be able to design a solution, get feedback, and write a prototype by yourself
• Care deeply about user experience and the quality of the products that you work on
• Enjoy working on complex solutions
• Care and value code maintainability, readability and testing
• Have experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud or some experience with systems engineering
• Understand the implications of technical decisions, how they’ll affect the codebase and the team
• Enjoy being part of the community
• Be able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Code new features
• Enhance the operational experience of the systems you develop
• Iteratively improve systems based on production insights
• Contribute to and review design documents
• Take an active role in shaping the team’s roadmap
• Collaborate with different teams across the organization
• Own the experience of our customers by participating in weekday 12h x 5d and a separate weekend 24h x 2d on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

• Feel comfortable working with either Golang or Python and React
• Have experience with Django
• Have familiarity with TypeScript, React, Mobx, and Webpack
