Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join Incognia's Backend team as a Backend Engineer and contribute to the development and maintenance of our core API. You will work with microservices (primarily Java and Go) to build new features, ensuring scalability and security for millions of users. Collaborate with Data Science and Product Management teams, participate in planning, and solve technical challenges. This role requires strong programming skills, experience with databases, and familiarity with containerization and orchestration. Incognia values a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Upper-intermediate English
• Experience with strongly typed programming languages (Java, Go, Rust)
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture
• Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Use of version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Know how to use containers (Docker) and orchestrators (e.g., Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Develop improvements in the quality of our API
• Develop new features for Incognia products
• Work on services that support the Incognia API
• Be involved in planning, maintaining contact with internal and external clients to better understand requirements and impacts of the work
• Propose improvements and implement solutions with the team
• Resolve technical problems encountered together with the team and its interfaces
• Maintain, evolve and provide support to services and systems in production following best practices of observability, reliability and security
