Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

A fully remote Backend Engineer position is available for an experienced software engineer with at least 7 years commercial experience. The candidate will develop web-based systems, work in a team environment, and have in-depth knowledge of PHP8+ and modern frameworks such as Symfony. Requirements

• At least 7 years of commercial experience as a software engineer or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of PHP8+
• Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks, preferably Symfony
• Solid understanding of OO programming concepts and patterns
• Experience with TDD and unit testing

Responsibilities

• Develop web based systems
• Develop functionality for our own products, administration systems and ecommerce capabilities using modern frameworks
• Develop and maintain integrations with third party systems
• Develop our APIs
• Work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in CS or equivalent is a plus
• Good understanding of HTML and CSS
• Familiarity with modern JS frameworks
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Comfortable on the command line of *NIX machines
• Experience working in cross functional teams
