Summary
Join PublicSquare, America's leading commerce and payments ecosystem, as a Lead Backend Engineer. You'll be part of a team delivering innovative solutions, working with technologies like Docker, Git, Kotlin, Kafka, and more. This full-time position requires at least 10 years of software development experience, including architectural or senior developer roles, and expertise in distributed streaming platforms. You'll collaborate with various teams, execute development roadmaps, and optimize our tech stack. Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in software development, including a background as a software architect or senior developer
- Experience in fast-paced, highly innovative SaaS startup and scale-up companies
- Experience with Cloud technologies and optimizing for scale and cost
- Proficiency in designing and implementing data stream processing solutions using distributed streaming platforms such as Kafka or Redpanda, with a strong understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines
- Leadership and organizational abilities. Proven experience as an architect, director, or similar leadership role
- Ability to actively communicate, inspire, and motivate all levels of staff
- Partners effectively and collaboratively with the Product, Sales, and Client Services teams
- High "EQ" - good listening skills, clear and direct communicator with very high integrity
- Honest and fair with both their team members as well as their colleagues
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
- Excellent communication skills. Strong writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of technology trends to build a strategy
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Problem-solving, solution-oriented aptitude
- BS in a technology field - Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, etc
Responsibilities
- Work with the Development, DevOps, and PM teams
- Be responsible for executing the development roadmap and optimization of cost, reliability, and scalability of our tech stack
- Be a clear communicator and assist in the overall performance of the teams
