Senior Backend Engineer

You will be responsible for the full-stack development supporting the API interface to the mobile application, encompassing the web layer, authentication, data enrichment, event sourcing, database layer, and cloud infrastructure. This role demands expertise in Elixir/Erlang, Phoenix, and Google Cloud technologies. You will design and execute architectural plans, debug production systems, and manage infrastructure-as-code. Requirements

• Have 10+ years of experience as a Senior Backend Engineer
• Have 5+ years of Elixir / Erlang experience
• Be proficient in Backend frameworks: Phoenix (web), commanded (CQRS), Broadway (pub/sub), Oban (background jobs), Hermes (MCP)
• Be experienced with Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Postgres, Terraform, Appsignal

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for the full stack supporting the API interface to the mobile application
• Support the web layer, authentication, data enrichment, event sourcing via CQRS, database layer with Postgres, and the infrastructure holding it all up in Google Cloud
• Design and execute architectural plans/changes
• Debug production systems with monitoring and observability
• Own infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Own a database (Postgres on Google Cloud SQL)
• Work with MCP and Claude Code
