Senior Backend Engineer

Requirements

• Thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team, collaborating with design, product management, data, and care operations
• Have built and maintained production-grade features in Python
• Know how to design relational database models, and have used a relational database at scale
• Been a key contributor to the design and implementation of large, complex projects
• Be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Think about the customer and business impact of your work
• Have experience building distributed systems and cloud services like AWS, GCP

Responsibilities

• Lead work on products that unlock business growth pathways and provide directed actions for our franchise network
• Build clean interfaces and high-performance backend services
• Build and maintain production-grade features in Python
• Design relational database models and use a relational database at scale
• Be a key contributor to the design and implementation of large, complex projects
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Consider the customer and business impact of your work
• Build distributed systems and cloud services like AWS, GCP

Preferred Qualifications

• Work at or have worked at a technology startup, on a product team
• Be knowledgeable about microservice architecture and best practices
• Have experience leveraging observability and monitoring tools like DataDog
• Enjoy mentoring and spreading knowledge to other engineers
