Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

The job is a Senior Backend Engineer position at Cabinet Health with remote work and EST Time Zone preference. The role involves designing, implementing, and securing scalable solutions for the patient health platform, integrating it with external pharmacy partners, building automations for internal pharmacists, extending multi-channel customer notification system, owning development, testing, and deployment of logic for recurring billing, indexing internal and external data to build an intelligent medicine search system, partnering with the security team, mentoring junior team members, and more. The required qualifications include 5+ years of experience in Python, bachelor's degree in computer science or similar program, experience building flexible and secure APIs, mastery of SQL and relational database design.

• 5+ years experience developing production backend system software in Python for a company in healthcare, finance, or other highly regulated industries

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and secure scalable solutions for our patient health platform
• Integrate our platform with external pharmacy partners
• Build automations for our team of internal pharmacists
• Extend and build new notification capabilities that help our customers know the status of their prescriptions, remind them when they need to refill, and help them get a new prescription from their doctor when they’re out of refills
• Own development, testing, and deployment of logic for recurring billing
• Index internal and external data to build an intelligent medicine search system
• Partner with our security team to develop test plans and remediate issues
• Mentor junior team members
