Senior Backend Engineer, Technical Lead

Requirements

• Strong experience (8+ years) in backend development, especially Ruby on Rails and Postgres
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React, Typescript)
• Proven experience in technical leadership, with a track record of mentoring
• Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to succeed in our remote, partly asynchronous work environment

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the code, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable solutions
• Ensure security updates are timely and handle proofs-of-concept
• Review code and provide actionable feedback to other developers
• Lead technical discussions, guide technology choices, and develop our roadmap
• Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge and helping with career growth
• Partner with product managers to ensure seamless project planning and execution
• Oversee technical delivery, identifying and addressing any blockers or priorities
• Engage with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts clearly
• Work with product, design, and engineering to deliver high-quality features
