Senior Backend Java Developer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Java Developer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve software development practices. This remote position is based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. The role requires extensive experience in Java-based development and working with AWS APIs and tools. You will design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with databases and third-party systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +5 years of experience
• Experience with Java-based Spring Boot applications, Hibernate, JEE and related technologies
• Experience working with AWS APIs and tools such as Lambda, Code Build/Deploy, S3, SES, SQS
• Experience with RESTful web services, and integrating Java applications with web APIs

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) for scalable and high-performance applications
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, integrating with databases and third-party systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, DevOps) to deliver reliable and secure backend solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Sencha Ext JS or React
