Summary

Join Contentsquare as a Senior Backend Engineer in our Voice of Customer unit and help build and evolve tools for collecting qualitative user feedback. You will primarily work on Python microservices, contributing to services in Node/TypeScript or React-based frontend. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Python experience, strong SQL foundations, and experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and OpenSearch. This role offers remote work flexibility in France, Italy, or Spain, or hybrid options in Paris, Milan, or Barcelona. Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Python
  • Strong foundations in SQL; familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn Node.js / TypeScript
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, OpenSearch is a strong advantage
  • You value code quality, clarity, and performance
  • You think in terms of user impact and business value, not just technical goals
  • You are proactive, autonomous, and comfortable owning features end-to-end
  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the backend services behind our Voice of Customer products (Surveys, Interviews, User Tests)
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code primarily in Python
  • Contribute to architectural decisions to improve scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers to deliver impactful features
  • Optionally contribute to services in Node/TypeScript and to the React frontend
  • Take active part in product discussions, helping us shape our product strategy
  • Take ownership of significant projects or components, breaking them into iterative deliverables
  • Help define and improve best practices around testing, observability, and maintainability
  • Support continuous improvement of our engineering culture and team dynamics
