Senior Big Data Engineer

Summary

As a Senior Big Data Engineer, you will design, build, and support major realtime big data projects, maintain ETL processes, develop high-performance services for large datasets, troubleshoot live production systems, guide junior colleagues, collaborate across company functions, and stay updated with big data technologies. The role requires strong object oriented programming skills, experience with big data technologies, schema design expertise, SQL proficiency, cloud computing knowledge, excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, and communication & collaboration skills.

Requirements

• Strong object oriented programming skills - ideally Python and/or Java
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Nifi, and Big Data datastores
• Strong understanding of schema design methodologies and data models
• Expert in extracting large datasets using SQL, familiarity with SQL databases
• Strong experience with cloud-computed and/or distributed systems
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication & collaboration skills
• Strong understanding of data requirements for the iGaming Business

Responsibilities

• Assume ownership of the analysis, design, building, and support of major realtime big data projects
• Design, create, and maintain ETL processes, data integrations, and data pipelines
• Develop high-performance services to efficiently process, store, and analyze large datasets using optimized code
• Design and implement data validation and quality checks tailored to meet specific business needs
• Troubleshoot live production systems, ensuring smooth operations and swift issue resolution
• Actively test and implement new technologies, staying abreast of the latest advancements relevant to current and future projects
• Guide and mentor associate colleagues, fostering their growth and skill development within the organization
