Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

Summary

Join Natera's Bioinformatics Research Team as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to contribute to cancer recurrence monitoring and algorithm development. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in genomics, sequencing data processing, and/or applied machine learning.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a focus on cancer genomics preferred (Minimum 2 years post-PhD experience)
• MS in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with minimum 5 years experience
• Strong programming skills in a scientific programming language, Python strongly preferred
• Experience with algorithm development, data analysis, and machine learning
• Deep understanding of sequencing data with a track-record of developing state-of-the-art computational methods
• Experience working with WGS data preferred
• Familiar with public databases such as TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB
• Experience using Linux command-line tools and shell scripting
• Ability to perform hypothesis driven research, visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets based on insights in cancer biology and genomics
• Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems
• Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence
