Join Parity, a Remote HVAC Optimization company, as a Senior Building Intelligence Engineer in the Washington, D.C. area. Requirements

  • An academic background in Engineering, with a passion for HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering
  • 5-10 years experience working in at least one of the following areas: MEP Engineering
  • Controls/Building Automation
  • Energy auditing, and/or energy services
  • Familiarity working with energy incentive programs
  • Ability to travel to client sites within the greater DC metro area
  • You are eager to grow, learn, and tackle new opportunities in a fast-growing startup environment
  • You are a quick learner who only needs to be shown something once before doing it yourself, and then going back to improve the process
  • You constantly seek efficiency and optimization of processes and procedures; you look for gaps and work to fill them

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Parity’s subject matter expert in the greater Washington DC area for building automation, HVAC equipment operation, Parity’s optimization strategies, and all relevant local policies, regulations, and incentive programs
  • Responsible for technical signoff of deliverables from junior engineer(s) in the DC region
  • Conduct on-site assessments of our client's buildings to prepare initial estimated savings, integration costs, and savings for Parity’s service
  • Use Parity’s modeling tools to complete an energy analysis of our clients’ buildings based on site assessments, utility data, mechanical equipment specs, building drawings, and current control sequences to estimate the energy savings potential from implementing Parity’s Optimizer service
  • Manage the installation and set-up phase of Parity’s service from start to finish to ensure projects are completed on schedule and budget while keeping clients updated on progress throughout the length of each project
  • Ensure that the applicable specifications and standards are applied throughout manufacturing process and mechanical systems delivery to the Project
  • Ensure accurate communication and between Parity’s software platform and field controllers in clients’ buildings, along with testing control sequence(s) with support from Parity’s programming team to reduce energy waste
  • Complete final commissioning and sign off of systems to ensure that Parity’s Service Delivery Team, the Client, and incentive program requirements are met
  • Support the sales team by providing them with market details, contacts, and help them develop proposals
  • Manage incentive application and procurement process on behalf of Parity
  • Develop and maintain understanding of local incentive landscape including determining eligible incentives and relevant requirements for Parity service
  • Support Party’s service delivery team as a local technical resource as needed for buildings that are live in the Parity system
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local electrical, mechanical, and controls contractors
  • Help to optimize existing systems and process to best serve the Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia market
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Washington DC’s and Maryland’s Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) and other relevant local policies, regulations, and trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing installation/retrofit projects
  • Experience working with building automation systems
  • Experience with Niagara Tridium products and applications
