Senior Software Engineer Community Support Engineering

Summary

Join Airbnb's CS Money team and revolutionize financial transactions within the community support platform. This team is dedicated to building a secure, efficient, and user-friendly platform for financial interactions between guests, hosts, and third parties. You will contribute to unifying transaction management, enhancing user experience, facilitating seamless integration, establishing robust controls, and empowering decisions with intelligence. The role involves working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a cross-functional team, and leading the design and completion of a major technology transformation. Mentoring other engineers is also a key responsibility. This is a US-remote eligible position.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters or 2+ years with a PhD
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience
• Proficient in any of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java, C#, Python/Django, Ruby/Ruby on Rails
• Experience with scaling and maintaining high-traffic production systems (e.g.well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
• Problem solving: Ability to evaluate technical approaches to problems and evaluate tradeoffs
• Communication: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with stakeholders verbally and in writing
• Strong project scoping and project management skills
• Ability to mentor and develop other engineers

Responsibilities

• Work in a highly dynamic environment by collaborating with a cross-functional team
• You’ll be responsible for coming up with creative solutions using skills including Service Oriented Architecture, real-time system, anti-fraud and payments technologies
• Lead the team to design and complete our major technology transformation, and driven cross-team collaboration
• Mentor and grow other engineers in the team
