As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will create complex site layouts and designs for renewable energy projects using AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in civil engineering or similar applicable work experience is required
- 8+ years of experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D
- Proficiency in the creation of civil land development sheet sets including grading, site drainage, and access road design
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Create highly complex site layouts and designs in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial-scale renewable energy projects
- Oversee projects in a portfolio or a suite of projects
- Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of renewable development design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
- Support client interaction for multiple projects in multiple portfolios
- Coordinate cross-functionality between disciplines
- Supervise, provide training for, and mentor assigned staff engineers
- Independently evaluate, select, and adapt procedures and criteria
- Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
- Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- May act as a supervisor
- Lead all staff necessary to complete assignments
- Review and finalize scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
- Prepare proposals to provide professional services for engineering projects or portfolios
- Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects or is responsible for an entire portfolio
- Act as main point of contact for their discipline or project team on portfolios
- Seek guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
- Receive a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
- Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines
- Perform additional duties as assigned or directed
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Civil Engineering licensure is strongly preferred, multi-state licensure is desirable
- Experience with utility or commercial solar PV systems or energy storage system design is strongly preferred
- Prior supervisory or managerial experience is desirable
