Summary
Join NBCUniversal as a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer and help design solutions for our post-production automation platform. You will gather requirements from production and engineering clients, translate them into development projects, and leverage your deep understanding of existing infrastructure. Responsibilities include researching, designing, and implementing cloud solutions, managing large data models, integrating cognitive services, setting up POCs, collaborating with the Engineering Workflow team, assisting with QA, creating documentation, and training team members. Requirements
- 5+ years of overall experience in DevOps and/or data architecture
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with Azure Functions and AWS Lambda
- Experience in containerization infrastructure and concepts, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience in cloud-based data lakes and data warehouses and related tools, such as Azure Synapse and AWS Redshift
- Experience with Azure cognitive services and AWS equivalent
- Experience with vector and graph database and large language models
- Experience in Development QC Processes
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools, including PowerShell
Responsibilities
- Research, design and implement new solutions for moving automation to the public cloud
- Manage large data models to facilitate reporting of any event captured by the automation platform
- Enable integration of cognitive services to our automation pipeline and management of the data derived from those services
- Set up and manage proof of concepts (POCs) in partnership with our cloud infrastructure team and vendors. Provide findings along with cost analysis of the solutions
- Collaborate with Engineering Workflow team as needed to find cloud-based automated solutions to meet client workflow requests
- Assist with the Development QA process during the monthly testing phase
- Create and maintain documentation and train other team members on new implementations
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience with post-production automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage
- Experience with object storage, such as S3 and Azure Blob
- Experience using API's (in particular REST) to integrate with third parties
- Ability to work remotely effectively with others across geographical locations
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and schedules
- Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU
