Summary
Join Pathward, a hybrid, remote-office financial empowerment company, as a Cloud Engineer. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing, automating, and supporting our AWS cloud environments. Responsibilities include designing, planning, and maintaining our AWS infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call rotation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 5+ years of AWS experience, and expertise in various AWS services and security best practices. Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience
- Have typically 5+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with AWS
- Possess in-depth knowledge of key AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Have a strong understanding of AWS security best practices and experience implementing security measures, including Identity and Access Management (IAM) and network security
- Have experience with AWS network infrastructure, including VPCs, security groups, NACLs, and familiarity with routing, VPNs, and Direct Connect
- Have experience with monitoring and logging tools like AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and familiarity with third-party monitoring solutions
- Possess knowledge of AWS services and best practices for achieving high availability and disaster recovery
- Be proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar technologies
- Actively participate in identifying changes in technology, processes, and procedures that improve team and company effectiveness and performance
- Stay focused, motivated, organized, and present in a remote work environment, managing time effectively, adhering to schedules, avoiding distractions
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Have strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Demonstrate a commitment to staying updated with the latest AWS services and industry best practices
Responsibilities
- Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process
- Design, plan, manage, maintain, and support, and any other technological duties associated with the organization’s cloud computing environment
- Monitor the consumption of cloud resources, requests fulfillment turnaround, application performance, and systems security posture and evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software as needed
- Design technical solutions on AWS public cloud environments, creating functional design specifications, reference architectures, and other technical specifications
- Work cross-functionally with multiple teams to analyze cloud service provider SLAs, KRI, and KPI metrics. Collaborate with Engineering teams to enable their applications to run on applicable Cloud Platform. Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy
- Participate in On-Call Rotation for production-critical events in AWS
- Perform other duties as assigned
