Summary
Join T-Rex Solutions as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer and play a vital role in securing our Department of Treasury TCloud environments. You will leverage your expertise in system and security administration, cloud platforms, and scripting to maintain system integrity and resilience against cyber threats. This position requires a US citizenship, a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, and a strong foundation in system and security administration. A Public Trust clearance is required.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong foundation in system and security administration, including experience with both Linux and Windows environments
- Demonstrable expertise in scripting and automation with languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Profound knowledge of cloud services, architecture, and hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proven background in security best practices, policies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Experience in system and application hardening, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage complex cross-platform integrations
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure cloud architectures on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Utilize extensive system administration experience to ensure seamless operations and high availability of cloud services
- Apply security administration expertise to manage identity and access management (IAM), implement network security policies, and monitor compliance with security frameworks
- Leverage scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate tasks, enhance system efficiencies, and orchestrate complex workflows
- Employ best practices in cloud security to harden cloud environments against vulnerabilities, ensuring data protection and threat mitigation
- Conduct proactive troubleshooting and incident response to resolve complex issues with minimal downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance security initiatives, streamline operations, and achieve business objectives
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of internal training programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Treasury clearance preferred
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent are strongly preferred
