Senior Concept Artist

Summary

Believer is seeking a Senior Character Concept Artist to join their team and help create the visual style for an all-new video game franchise. The artist will collaborate with the art team to conceptualize and develop unique character designs, create concept art, work with other departments, and stay updated with industry trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Concept Artist
• A portfolio of concept art that demonstrates creativity, artistic skills, and ability to work within a creative vision
• Proficiency in creating stylized concept art for games with a clear art direction, and a creative flair
• Proficiency in industry-standard 2D and 3D software such as Photoshop, ZBrush, or equivalent concept art creation software
• A natural collaborator, willing to share, mentor, and partner with other teams
• A passion for gaming and the ability to bring a unique perspective to concept art design that enhances the game experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Art Director, Character Art Director, and other members of the art team to conceptualize and develop unique character designs that align with the game's overall vision and style
• Create character concept art, including sketches, character turnarounds, illustrations, and digital paintings, to communicate design ideas to the team
• Work with the 3D, Narrative, and Design departments to ensure that characters represent our story and gameplay
• Participate in team critiques and offer constructive feedback to other artists on the team
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and incorporate new techniques and approaches into your work

• Annual salary range: $135,000-$185,000 USD
