Join Zensurance, a leading InsurTech company, as a Senior Construction Underwriter to drive the growth of our construction book of business. Reporting to the Operational Underwriting team, you will collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and the analytics team to enhance insurance offerings. Key responsibilities include managing broker referrals, contributing to operational efficiency, shaping growth strategy, providing pricing input, and collaborating on underwriting guidelines. You will also develop broker relationships and mentor team members. The ideal candidate possesses 5-7 years of commercial underwriting experience specializing in construction risks, with experience in heat application roofing and commercial snow removal being an asset. Requirements
- 5-7 years of commercial underwriting experience specializing in construction risks
- Track record of achieving premium and bind ratio targets
- Ability to build relationships both with markets and brokers
- Ability to utilize collaboration skills while taking ownership of projects
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage a book with a focus on construction risks
- Meet premium and bind ratio targets while maintaining a disciplined underwriting approach
- Contribute to operational efficiency, ensuring streamlined processes and data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with leadership to shape the growth and profitability strategy for the new program
- Provide input on pricing strategy to ensure market competitiveness
- Collaborate on underwriting guidelines, wordings, endorsements, extensions, and exclusions based on appetite expansions, customer demand, and evolving offerings in the marketplace
- Develop and strengthen relationships with Zensurance brokers, acting as a trusted partner in the marketplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience underwriting heat application roofing and commercial snow removal risks is an asset
- CIP, CRM or FCIP is an asset
- Experience working with an MGA or program specific division of an Insurance Company
