Summary
Join insightsoftware as a Functional Consultant to support the implementation and configuration of our leading reporting solution. You will leverage your strong JD Edwards (JDE) expertise and analytical skills to design and develop robust reports using JDE data. Responsibilities include translating business needs into technical specifications, writing complex SQL queries, implementing our products for clients, and providing training and support. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, and 10+ years of JD Edwards ERP software experience. Strong SQL skills and experience with various JDE modules are essential. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or Business Systems
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting or finance
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
- Requirement gathering experience for report development
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple competing tasks
- Proficient in SQL and its variations among popular databases (MSSQL/Oracle/Vector)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in JD Edwards ERP software
- Experience on JD Edwards modules – General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Purchase Order Processing, Sales Order Processing, Manufacturing, Advanced Pricing, and Master Data
- Strong understanding of JDE data structures, table relationships, and module-specific data
- Experience working with reporting tools that source data from JD Edwards and/or proficiency with data extraction from JDE into external systems or staging databases
- Proficient in common business applications such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel, as well as CRM and ERP software solutions
Responsibilities
- Ability to analyse and interpret business requirements to design and develop robust reports using JDE data
- Ability to translate business user analytical needs and translate them into technical report specifications including data requirements through a combination of your own skills and leveraging the talents of the insightsoftware team
- Configure and deploy custom reports based on technical specifications
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, join, and manipulate data directly from JDE tables as required
- Implement one or more of our products for new and existing customers
- Enhance and maintain existing customer’s applications
- Interact with customers to analyze their requirements and create reporting solutions
- Analyze, understand and troubleshoot existing complex SQL queries using joins and functions
- Integrate products with customers ERP systems and other data sources
- Plan, prepare and perform product training
- In time, coach partners and customers in the configuration of customer solutions
- Assist with system testing and rollout activities
- Provide acceptance testing and post-conversion support
- Assist with execution and reconciliation of data conversion
- Support ad hoc data requests and troubleshoot data/reporting issues to ensure accuracy and performance
- Other tasks as requested by leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of Budgeting and Forecasting solutions
- Experience in a customer services role (consulting) within the Finance function of an organization
- Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite
- Experience in performing DB health checks, performance tuning and database optimizations
- Experience in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, or finance is advantageous
