Senior Consulting Cloud Architect

Summary

Join Rackspace Technology's Consulting Architecture team as a Lead Architect (Senior Consulting Cloud Architect) and play a pivotal role in supporting account growth and technical project delivery for our largest German enterprise customer. You will work with customers and Rackspace to redesign IT landscapes using cloud-native technologies, design and deliver innovative Proof of Concepts, and guide customers on their cloud journeys. This role requires leading multi-functional teams, defining long-term strategies, and mentoring junior architects. German language proficiency (C1/C2 or native) is essential. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in public cloud platforms (AWS preferred), cloud-native systems, and architectural engagements. This is a remote position.

Requirements

• German language skills (C1/C2 or native) are essential
• Have a proven track record in designing and delivering innovative technology solutions built on the cloud
• Be comfortable engaging at all levels of the customer’s business, from working with senior/C-level leadership to guiding IT specialists and developers on building solutions
• Have extensive experience of creating Public Cloud platforms (AWS preferred, due to current demand)
• Have demonstrable experience in designing and implementing cloud-native systems and/or rebuilding an existing system on the cloud
• Have the ability to lead architectural engagements, either directly or as part of a larger programme of work and take ownership for the successful delivery of customer value within budget, time and scope
• Be able to concisely and articulately present to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Have specialist and demonstrable knowledge in Cloud Platform Architecture or Cloud-native Application Architecture
• Have an articulate opinion on the advantages of using public cloud platforms from a business perspective
• Be able to identify and plan to resolve the challenges, both technical and organizational, facing Enterprise and SMB organizations who are moving their applications to the cloud
• Have Expert level Project Management experience and exposure
• Be Certified as a professional architect on at least one of the major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or as an enterprise architect

Responsibilities

• Work with customers and the wider Rackspace organizations on re-thinking and re-designing IT landscapes using cloud-native technologies
• Design and deliver innovative Proof of Concepts for customers
• Provide guidance to customers on their cloud journeys and establish a long-term trusted advisor role
• Deliver high-quality work to customers as part of consulting engagements that can be delivered through workshops, presentations or architecture designs
• Drive the engagements with customers from the architectural pillar, from design to delivery
• Work in close collaboration with other architects, technical consultants and professional services teams within Rackspace and customer’s teams
• Mentor and train junior architects within the wider Rackspace Architecture community on modern cloud-native software patterns
• Help identify, nurture and onboard (internal/external) talent to build out high-performing Technical Delivery teams, supporting ongoing practice growth
• Contribute to Presales efforts, RFI/RFP's, etc, and nurture account development opportunities
