Summary

Join Method, a global design and engineering consultancy, as a BI Data Strategist and Implementation expert. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the project lead on data strategy and implementation. Gather requirements from stakeholders, analyze data using SQL, Excel, or BI tools, and identify critical data gaps. Translate insights into reports and design dynamic data visualizations. Build interactive dashboards and reports using BI platforms like Tableau and Power BI. Apply best practices in data visualization and identify areas for improvement in data processes. Propose data standards and stay current with emerging BI tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new industry or business domains and translate business strategy into analytics priorities
  • Expert at breaking down ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches with attention to detail
  • Skilled at weaving complex data findings into clear, impactful narratives for C-suite and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable presenting to executive audiences and facilitating data-driven decision workshops
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (data cataloguing, lineage, access controls)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly articulate your work and its intent to your team and your client
  • A unique point of view. You are trusted to question approaches, processes, and strategy to serve your team better
  • Technical skills
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, data analysis, or a similar role
  • Expert in both Tableau and Power BI (at least 3+ years of experience)
  • Able to create custom visuals (Stremlit, JavaScript/TypeScript + D3.js or R/Shiny) when off-the-shelf doesn’t suffice
  • Proficient in Python for data cleansing and statistical analysis

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product strategists, data engineers, data architects, and other design disciplines to understand data requirements and design accurate and impactful data reporting systems
  • Analyze and document existing BI data system processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Translate vague business goals into clear analytical requirements and success criteria
  • Craft data stories that highlight trends, anomalies, and actionable insights
  • Build interactive dashboards and standardized reports using BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Custom using Streamlit/Flask)
  • Apply best practices in layout, color theory, and chart selection to maximize readability and insight
  • Identify and improve slow-running queries, dashboard load times, and data refresh processes
  • Propose data standards and best practices
  • Stay current with emerging BI tools, visualization techniques, and data-design patterns

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
  • Working knowledge of data services on cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure /GCP)
