Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Blend, an award-winning consultancy focused on data and technology, as a Data Engineer. You will play a key role in transforming media data workflows into efficient pipelines within the Snowflake environment. Utilizing your expertise in Alteryx, you will collaborate with analytics and business teams to enhance data accessibility and performance. This position offers a unique blend of technical challenges focused on optimizing data flow and infrastructure in a dynamic, data-driven environment. You can work remotely if you are currently living in LATAM or join the team in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related data-focused role
• Strong experience with Snowflake data warehousing and transformation techniques
• Proficiency in Alteryx , particularly with reverse engineering, performance tuning, and complex workflows
• Solid understanding of data modeling , ETL/ELT pipelines , and data architecture best practices
• Strong SQL skills; ability to write and optimize complex queries
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with a passion for building clean, reliable, and efficient data systems
• You will need excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team
• We're looking for someone with 4+ years' of experience in similar roles

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for media data using Snowflake
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and business teams to gather requirements and implement data transformation solutions
• Leverage expertise in Alteryx to reverse engineer existing workflows and optimize performance
• Perform data modeling, transformation, and integration across diverse media data sources
• Develop and maintain documentation for data workflows and architecture
• Implement and monitor best practices in data engineering to ensure high-quality, reliable data delivery
• Continuously improve existing pipelines and systems for speed, scalability, and robustness
• Support data infrastructure projects and contribute to data architecture design

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with media industry datasets or similar high-volume, complex data types is a plus
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus
