Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, at least 5 years
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience in working with or administering cloud-based data warehouses
  • Experience with data modeling and designing efficient database schemas
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow

Responsibilities

  • Create, set up, and manage data pipelines that are both scalable and efficient
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs
  • Implement and enforce robust data governance policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of the organization's data assets
  • Implement and maintain ELT processes to extract, load and transform data from various sources into our data warehouse
  • Optimize SQL queries for data analysis and reporting purposes
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, analytics engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide support in optimizing data workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner
  • Build a world-class development environment and CI/CD system that will allow our systems to scale for years to come
  • Ingest data from REST APIs using python and Airflow
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our data engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dbt (data build tool) and Fivetran is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with our tech stack is advantageous: AWS, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Looker
  • Experience with GitHub Actions
  • Experience with data streaming and CDC is a plus
  • DWH Administration is a plus
  • GDPR (or similar) is a plus
