Summary

Join House Rx as a Senior Data Engineer and play a critical role in building, maintaining, and scaling our data infrastructure, focusing on ingesting and harmonizing data from various healthcare systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to make healthcare data impactful for daily operations and long-term care. This senior-level role demands hands-on contributions, ownership of projects, influence on architectural decisions, and leadership in defining data engineering standards. You will lead data ingestion and transformation from external systems, design scalable data pipelines, leverage best-in-class tools, and champion data excellence. The ideal candidate possesses extensive data engineering experience, particularly within healthcare, and strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with at least 1 year working with healthcare data or medical system integrations
  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data exchange standards
  • Fluency in modern data engineering tools and practices: DBT, Airflow, SQL, cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex data flows for technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ingestion and transformation of data from external healthcare systems (e.g., FHIR, SFTP pipelines, APIs) into our core data infrastructure
  • Own the architecture and implementation of scalable data pipelines that power our operations, dashboards, and machine learning use cases
  • Help scale our data stack through use of best-in-class tools (currently we use DBT, Airflow, and Postgres)
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Clinical Operations to define and prioritize data requirements for patient care and business operations
  • Help us build a culture of data excellence by advocating for quality, testing, documentation, and continuous learning

  • Experience working in high-growth or startup environments is a plus
