Summary
Join LastPass as a Senior Data Engineer and build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product teams to ensure data reliability, structure, and efficient delivery. Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, develop and optimize data models, and ensure data quality and consistency. Work with stakeholders to define data requirements and improve data infrastructure using modern tools. Implement data security and access controls, and document data structures and procedures. Support reverse ETL and integration workflows. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with various internal teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
- Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with PySpark is a plus
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), especially storage (S3, GCS) and compute (EC2, Lambda, Databricks)
- Familiarity with data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and modern ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte)
- Strong understanding of Kimball data modeling, schema design, and data normalization/denormalization
- Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and version control systems such as GitLab
- Knowledge of data privacy and governance best practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract data from internal and third-party systems into our data warehouse/lake environment
- Develop and optimize data models (e.g., dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas) to support reporting and analytics
- Ensure data quality and consistency through validation, monitoring, and observability practices
- Work with analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and make raw data more usable across the business
- Manage and improve data infrastructure using modern tools (e.g., dbt, Spark, Databricks)
- Implement and maintain data security and access controls in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements
- Document data structures, pipeline logic, and operational procedures
- Support reverse ETL and integration workflows as needed to deliver data into downstream systems (e.g., Salesforce, Intercom)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering Databricks
- Background in AWS DevOps
