Summary
Join NBCUniversal's Data and Analytics Team as a Senior Data Engineer (Innovation) and contribute to their cloud journey. You will design and develop prototypes using cloud services, evaluate emerging technologies, and facilitate the implementation of new data engineering tools. The role involves building decision matrices, documenting learnings, automating tasks, and analyzing data anomalies. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and other technologists is key. Requirements
- 5+ years experience within Cloud and Data Engineering (AWS, Python, CI/CD )
- 3+ years experience in data engineering and BI tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI ,etc.)
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks
- Familiarity with AI/ML Frameworks (e.g. Hugging face, PyTorch, Open AI API etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Excellent PowerPoint, Viso, or Lucid chart skills to build presentations and workflows
- Bachelorโs Degree in Computer Science in related discipline or equivalent
- Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employeeโs residence
Responsibilities
- Design and develop rapid prototypes and PoCs using Cloud-native services(AWS, GCP or Azure), data platforms, and AI services
- Evaluate & integrate emerging technologies (Semantic Layer, Iceberg catalogs, Vector DBs,Conversational BI/AI etc)
- Facilitate RFI/RFPs with identifying, analyzing, testing and implementing new data engineering tools
- Enable data governance, security, and observability into PoC designs from day one
- Build decision matrixes for Data & Analytics technology selection, and key drivers
- Package learnings and outcomes into technical documentation and demos
- Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Python, APIs and Cloud-native services
- Ability to write complex SQL to analyze and troubleshoot data anomalies
- Maintain awareness of cutting-edge trends in Cloud, AI,and Data Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Solution focused, ability to perform under pressure and meet stretch targets
- An understanding of the media/entertainment industry is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, presentation, and customer service skills
- Experience with Semantic layer, Vector Databases,Unity catalog etc
