Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join us as a Senior Data Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) to oversee the design and deployment of a data warehouse for a fast-growing organization. This remote position lasts 4 months and focuses on managing end-to-end implementation, including data exploration, architecture design, ETL processes, and business intelligence reporting.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of data warehouse implementation, including designing architecture, managing ETL processes, and integrating with business intelligence platforms
• Strong expertise in cloud-based data warehousing solutions, preferably with experience using Microsoft Azure, SQL databases, Spark
• Familiarity with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau, with the ability to design and deploy dashboards
• Solid knowledge of data governance, compliance standards (HIPAA), and best practices in data security
• Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Airflow, or similar)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead projects and deliver results within tight timelines

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of a data warehouse/data lake, including gathering requirements, data modeling, architecture design, and data integration
• Execute the full project lifecycle from data exploration, ETL development, to deployment and preparing for post-launch support
• Collaborate with business units to ensure the data warehouse supports automated reporting, business intelligence dashboards, and enhanced decision-making
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security protocols are established, particularly in compliance with industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
• Coordinate with technical teams to integrate various systems’ data into the data warehouse, ensuring seamless data flow between departments
• Work with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) to enable self-service reporting capabilities for stakeholders
• Provide leadership in managing ETL processes and ensuring data is properly cleansed, standardized, and validated
• Train and support client teams on how to use and maintain the data warehouse infrastructure
