Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Xebia, a global leader in digital solutions, as a Data Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain data infrastructure, collaborating with Platform Engineers to select appropriate technologies. Responsibilities include implementing data ingestion processes, creating efficient data models, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires extensive experience with GCP (BigQuery), SQL, Python, and various data engineering tools. Strong communication skills and a work permit to work from the EU are essential. The recruitment process involves several stages, including technical interviews with live coding.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience with GCP (BigQuery DWH platform)
• 5+ years’ experience with data engineering or backend/fullstack software development
• Strong SQL skills
• Python scripting proficiency
• Working with Spark messaging systems
• Knowledge of at least one orchestration and scheduling tool, for example, Airflow, Prefect, Dragster, etc
• Familiarity with DevOps area and tools - GKE, Docker
• Ability to actively participate/lead discussions with clients to identify and assess concrete and ambitious avenues for improvement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Work from EU and a work permit to work from EU are required

Responsibilities

• Work alongside Platform Engineers to assess and choose suitable technologies and tools for the project
• R&D, maintenance, and monitoring of the platform's components
• Implementing intricate data intake procedures
• Constructing efficient data models
• Implementing and executing policies aligned to the strategic plans of the company concerning used technologies, work organization, etc
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations in terms of security, data privacy applied in the data processing layer
• Providing training and fostering knowledge-sharing

Preferred Qualifications

Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) certification is a big plus
