Summary
Join House Rx as a Senior Data Platform Engineer and play a key role in architecting, developing, and scaling our data infrastructure. Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical operations teams to transform healthcare data into actionable insights. This hands-on role requires contributing to platform development, influencing architectural decisions, and owning critical projects. Drive technical excellence, building a robust data platform and solidifying engineering practices. Balance long-term vision with immediate value delivery, collaborating with engineering and operations teams. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly impact an early-stage team.
Requirements
- Experienced Professional: You bring 5+ years of combined experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering
- Modern Data Stack Expertise: You have hands-on experience with contemporary data engineering tools such as Airflow, DBT, SQLMesh, Snowflake, MotherDuck, and similar technologies
- Coding Proficiency: You are skilled in at least one programming language, with a preference for TypeScript or Python
- Data Fluency: You possess a strong understanding of core data concepts including ELT, data lakes, data warehouses, backfill strategies, and data quality best practices
- Data Modeling Acumen: You have practical experience with data modeling
- Strategic Thinker: You're skilled at making well-reasoned engineering tradeoffs, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision
- Cloud Experience: You have some experience working within a cloud environment (e.g., AWS or Google Cloud)
- Infrastructure as Code: You have exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools like Terraform
Responsibilities
- Drive technical excellence, contributing to a robust data platform and solidifying our engineering practices
- Skillfully balance long-term vision with delivering immediate value, collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams to achieve shared goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a rapidly growing company
- A track record of building data platforms from the ground up
- Prior experience in Healthcare
