Senior Data Scientist

Summary

Join AUTO1 Group's Data Science Department as a Mid-Level/Senior Data Scientist to develop machine learning solutions optimizing sales and processes. You will design and evolve advanced modeling approaches, explore scalable architectures, and build a versatile library of machine learning algorithms. Your work will focus on optimizing the sourcing and inflow of second-hand vehicles, driving end-to-end processes from research to deploying scalable models. You'll contribute to robust sourcing models, translate business needs into machine learning solutions, and partner with engineering and product teams for deployment. The role involves monitoring model performance, sharing results, identifying business opportunities, and supporting junior team members. This position offers the possibility of remote work.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with a broad range of machine learning techniques and the ability to select and adapt the most appropriate approach for complex, real-world scenarios
• Proficiency in SQL and Python with coding best practices and code reviews in git/github
• Experience in deployment in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and CI/CD pipeline tools
• Proficiency in the full lifecycle of data science projects, including initializing/designing, developing (building the model), and deploying models in production (full stack)
• Strong communication skills to effectively present findings in a clear and unambiguous way

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building robust sourcing models that drive measurable business impact by optimizing vehicle inflow and ensure long-term scalability of our inventory sourcing operations
• Translate business needs into machine learning solutions that bring positive business impact
• Partner with engineering and product teams to deploy Data Science services and embed them in the Auto1 tech infrastructure
• Monitor model performance in production, share results with stakeholders and develop actionable next steps
• Identify business opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders and partners in tech to drive growth
• Set priorities and support junior members to achieve project goals

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with advanced modelling techniques, knowledge of pytorch, keras and tensorflow is a plus
