Summary

Big Viking Games is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their team remotely in Canada, with preference given to candidates from Ontario. The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for transforming complex data sets into actionable insights that enhance user engagement and satisfaction in Big Viking's free-to-play mobile and social games. They will work closely with engineering, product development, and user experience teams to ensure games meet and exceed player expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum Required Experience: 3 years in a relevant field. Preferred Experience: 5 years or more
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases, preferably Snowflake
• Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Transform complex data sets into actionable insights that enhance user engagement and satisfaction
• Work closely with engineering to design and implement efficient data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop and maintain dimensional data models, fact tables, and OLAP cubes
• Utilize SQL and tools like Snowflake/Google Big Query to query, manipulate, and transform data
• Apply machine learning techniques to uncover patterns, predict user behavior, and optimize user experiences
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and analysts to translate business requirements into analytical solutions
• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Build interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS
• Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques and Python libraries like scikit-learn
