Senior Marketing Data Scientist

Summary

CivicScience is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to create predictive models and lead data-driven projects in Colombia. The role requires strong statistical analysis skills, proficiency in Python and SQL, and experience in machine learning and deep learning. English B2 level or better is required.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in data science, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or statistics
• 5+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on machine learning and deep learning in a commercial setting; startup experience, a plus
• Strong statistical analysis skills to understand and interpret petabyte-scale complex datasets and design experiments
• Innovative thinker with a track record of technology-driven problem solving
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; adept at learning new technologies
• Experience with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Flink, as well as cloud data platforms; experience building applications using generative AI, a plus
• Familiarity with market research, consumer data, or data consulting, a plus
• Oral and written English skills at B2 level or better
• Experience working as part of a globally distributed team
• Positive and proactive attitude, capable of finding creative solutions to overcome challenges

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced predictive models using machine learning and deep learning techniques
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, using statistical techniques
• Develop prototypes for new data products using Python and SQL
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate data-driven solutions into our products
• Lead projects and mentor junior data scientists to promote a culture of data-driven decision making
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends in data science and machine learning, applying best practices to our processes
• Identify new business opportunities and leverage data for value creation
