Summary

Headway is a mental healthcare company that aims to build an accessible mental healthcare system by enabling therapists to accept insurance. They have grown into a national network of over 25,000 mental healthcare providers and have received significant funding from various investors. The Data team at Headway focuses on data analytics, engineering, product analytics, and science to build the mental healthcare system of the future. A Senior Data Scientist is being sought to join their growing team and help drive their science and ML efforts.

Requirements

• PhD (OR Master's Degree plus 3+ years of industry or academic research experience) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
• Demonstrable work experience on models that have been deployed into production systems (strategic, planning, and/or operational, and other applicable areas)
• Experience in writing scripts (Python) and/or software applications in programming languages such as C++, Java
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Find opportunities to improve and enhance our technology products, and translate ambiguous business requirements into the right ML solution
• Research prior work to inform and develop models and algorithms and quantify appropriate metrics & targets
• Lead research, development, and production deployment of machine learning solutions that support our patients, providers and insurance payers
• Solve difficult data analysis problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed
• Communicate findings to technical collaborators and business stakeholders
