Senior Data Scientist

Summary

Join KUNGFU.AI, a management consulting and engineering firm specializing in artificial intelligence, as a Senior Data Scientist. Partner with project managers, strategists, and engineers to help clients gain deeper insights into their challenges. You will identify and create relevant datasets, perform statistical analyses, visualize findings, and communicate results to various stakeholders. Collaborate with client teams and report project status. Work within an AI-focused environment, adopting new techniques and collaborating with machine learning engineers. This role requires a deep understanding of applied statistics, causal analysis, and machine learning models. Excellent communication and storytelling skills using data visualization are essential.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of applied statistics and product analytics
• Extensive professional experience with causal analysis (e.g., propensity scores, regression discontinuity design, uplift modeling)
• Ability to derive well-articulated hypotheses, execute appropriate analyses, and interpret the results for a non-statistical audience
• Familiarity and understanding of various machine learning models - we do a lot of prototyping and evaluating
• A demonstrated ability to quickly adopt new tools, algorithms, and analysis techniques
• Fluency in python as well as experience with common data science tooling (e.g. jupyter, git, SQL, matplotlib, AWS EC2, to name a few)
• Experience in an environment that is doing regular causal inference, A/B testing or experimental design
• Deep intuitions when navigating complex client environments while maintaining a high bar for client service
• Experience with one or more specialized analytical domains like causal modeling, power analysis or econometrics
• A deeply collaborative nature that complements multidisciplinary project teams
• Experience with the Scientific Method and applying it to solve business problems
• Experience with storytelling using data visualization. We don’t really care which tool you use, just that you have done this before
• More on the storytelling piece - we want someone who has experience presenting technical approaches and findings to a range of technical and non-technical audiences, so we need someone with excellent written communication skills
• Demonstrated professional experience working all the way from identifying data for a specific problem set, selecting appropriate solutions, and presenting the findings of those solutions. Essentially, you’ve worked from A to Z on a variety of data science projects
• Someone who’s resourceful and is comfortable with decision making

Responsibilities

• Identifying and creating data sets relevant to key research/business questions and performing statistical analyses to inform strategic decision-making
• Effectively visualizing and communicating statistical findings to a variety of stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical audiences
• Identifying and communicating opportunities for improving the overall product or data ecosystem
• Collaborating with client teams of various makeups and reporting project status to the internal KUNGFU.AI team
• Working within an AI-focused context, which requires a growth mindset. You’ll be exposed to new AI techniques and will work to complement them
• Collaborating with machine learning engineers to complement project work (and vice versa)
