Summary

Join OGC, a boutique market research and data analysis consulting firm, as a Senior Data Scientist. We help clients gain insights, improve customer experience, and grow their businesses. This full-time, remote position (East Coast hours) requires a strong analytical background and passion for using data to drive strategic decisions. You will work directly with clients, delivering consulting projects to senior stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from a top university
  • MA/MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a project-oriented data analyst or scientist
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues, identify causes, and recommend solutions quickly
  • Strong quantitative background with a high comfort level for learning new technologies
  • Python (High Level)
  • Modeling/Machine Learning
  • Statistics
  • SQL
  • Must speak and write English fluently and idiomatically

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of quantitative research and consulting projects from start to finish including project planning, data analysis, modeling, and building insights-based reports
  • Work with other data scientists, designers, and project managers on interdisciplinary projects using your skillset to derive structure and knowledge from raw data across various industry sectors
  • Work on complex and varied data sets from some of the worldโ€™s largest organizations to solve real-world problems
  • Develop data science products and solutions for clients, as well as for our internal team
  • Client Communication and engagement including building and delivering insights-based reports
  • Build, deploy and automate various algorithms (classification, regression, forecasting) and support the production of automated reports and analysis
  • Transform large volumes of data from internal and external sources in a manner suitable for analysis
  • Research new data sources, analytical tools, and methodologies for data science and data engineering
  • Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests, focusing on delivering key insights
  • Provide an expert point of view on analytical techniques and guidance to our analysts and sales directors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excel (VBA, Power Pivot, Power Query, DAX)
  • Data Visualization (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Demonstrated experience with common Python packages for data analysis and modeling; including Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Jupyter, Dask, PySpark, etc
  • Expertise in one or more specific data science domains (geospatial analytics, dashboards, text analytics, causal inference, cloud computing, etc.)
