Senior Data Scientist - Cyber Analyst

Summary

Join KnowBe4's Threat Research Lab as a Cybersecurity Threat Analyst and contribute to creating solutions and models for detecting threats. Analyze threat data, implement technical solutions, and innovate detection paradigms. Review and reverse engineer phishing attacks, understand broader attack vectors, and develop detection algorithms in Python and C#. Leverage machine learning to identify phishing trends and protect against them. Collaborate with team members, provide technical direction, and recommend solutions to lab objectives. This role may involve leading sub-projects and coordinating across functional boundaries.

Requirements

• BS or equivalent plus 5 years experience
• MS or equivalent plus 4 years experience
• Experience with phishing
• Statistical analysis skill
• Machine learning experience
• Advanced Python and C# abilities
• Demonstrable experience in being able to quickly learn and adapt to new areas of technology
• Ability to think outside the box and/or think maliciously to deliver creative solutions

Responsibilities

• Analyzes threat data and implements technical solutions
• Innovate and create extensions to detection paradigms in end to end fashion
• Reviewing, understanding and reverse engineering phishing attacks and technologies
• Understanding and implementing broader attack vectors
• Developing detection algorithms (python, c#) and extracting identifying features of phishing emails
• Understanding human behaviour and communications, and how they can be exploited by attackers
• Using machine learning to identify broader phishing trends and how to protect against them
• Perform novel algorithm and modeling creation to new challenges and business objectives
• Assist other team members by providing technical direction
• Recommends solutions to threat lab objectives
• Provides coordination across functional boundaries
• May act as team lead for sub-projects
